UK wine publication Decanter is pulling together the world’s best Syrah producers for a masterclass at Vinexpo in Hong Kong.
Craggy Range will represent New Zealand against iconic brands including Penfolds (AUS) and E.Guigal (FRA) as part of the "Syrah/Shiraz – an international expression of a noble grape" event.
The masterclass, being held on the 26th of May as part of Vinexpo’s Shiraz Day, will include a panel of international speakers. Craggy Range Chief Winemaker Matt Stafford will be on the panel alongside Peter Gago of Penfolds, Philippe Guigal of E.Guigal, Eduardo Chadwick of Viña Errázuriz (CHL), Stefano Frascolla of Tua Rita (ITA), Tim Steinke of Betz Family Winery (USA).
Matt will show the 2014 Craggy Range ‘Le Sol’ (RRP $125) against iconic Syrahs such as the 2010 Penfolds Kalimna Block 3C Bin 170 Shiraz (RRP $1,800) and the 2011 Côte-Rôtie la Landonne, E. Guigal (RRP $599). During the masterclass, each of the winemakers will discuss why they believe their wines best express the terroir in which they was grown with Decanter naming the panel, "the world’s leading Syrah producers."

The event will be held at 12.00 – 1.30 pm on Saturday 26th at Vinexpo in Hong Kong.
