Terrôir at Craggy Range was named in the list of New Zealand’s top 100 restaurants, for 2017 announced by Cuisine on Wednesday 4th July.
Terrôir at Craggy Range joins five other Hawkes Bay restaurants; Bistronomy, Pacifica, Elephant Hill, Malo and Te Awa Winery Restaurant, in the top 100.
“Hawkes Bay is making a solid name for itself, relying on local produce and high quality ingredients, and it is brilliant to see Terrôir at Craggy Range named along with some of the region’s best in the Cuisine top 100”, Aaron Drummond, Craggy Range General Manager said.
Chief Judge for 2017, Kerry Tyack, said that what was most interesting to him was a change he saw in the differences between Metropolitan and Regional restaurants. “What we see typically on offer in urban areas, we are now seeing appear in regional areas.”
Cuisine Editor, Kelli Brett, sees big trends emerging in New Zealand Cuisine, including the ‘plant-based’ meals and a huge rise and importance on using local produce. “Making the finals is wonderful. It’s a celebration of their incredible work and ability to shine in a really, really tough and highly competitive industry’.
