The first of June marks the annual Craggy Range release of their top tier Prestige collection wines, comprised of Le Sol, Aroha and Sophia.
To celebrate the release, Craggy Range will have the full selection of 2015 Prestige wines open in their Cellar Door from Friday 1st June – Monday 5th June, over the Queen’s Birthday holiday.
“2015 represents the third of three consecutive exceptional vintages. There is a lovely tension between fruit and tannin across all of the red wines and a class which will showcase itself well over the coming decade,” Matt Stafford, Craggy Range Chief Winemaker said.
Craggy Range Cellar Door Manager, Mike Bancks, is looking forward to launching the 2015 vintage, “There was incredible demand for the previous two vintages which sold out well before the next release. I am very excited to be opening the first bottles of the 2015 wines on June 1st and we will be showcasing these three wines throughout the long weekend”.
The Le Sol and Sophia wines are grown on the Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels vineyard in Hawkes Bay, renowned for producing vibrant reds. Craggy Range National Vineyard Manager, Daniel Watson considers the 2015 vintage to be one of the best. “The reds at Gimblett Gravels really stood out in my view, moderate crops and mild conditions resulted in some lovely fruit. We place a lot of emphasis on continuous improvement in everything we do,” he said.
Aroha is made from the best parcels of Pinot Noir grown at the cooler site of Te Muna Vineyard, located in Martinborough.
