Comparisons are inevitable

The 2014 vintage does not require too much introduction, as the wines are so unashamedly exuberant, and quite simply, delicious.

2013 represented the culmination of getting many things right, and the seriousness of those wines has given us a belief that we can compete in the fine wine space. More importantly for us it justified our belief in our vineyards and has given us a quiet confidence in the cellar to continue the evolution of our style, and mature along with our great vineyards.

Like its predecessor, 2014 was a comfortable vintage across our vineyards. Potential yields looked high initially but small, welcomed rain events during the flowering period tempered berry numbers. The average summer conditions were warmer than the long term average along with slightly higher than average rainfall. Berry size was kept moderate during the warm summer and as the harvest approached the temperatures cooled to maintain great freshness and aromatic intensity in the grapes.

While the 2013 Prestige wines educated us to a new reference point in the cellars and much discussion was had understanding and quantifying their evolution, the 2014 Prestige Collection wines have just charmed us all from the beginning. It is a pleasure to see them flourish and now be able to share them with you all.
