Our Calvert Vineyard Pinot Noir represents a beautiful expression of Central Otago Pinot Noir with more black fruited and floral aromatics. The vineyard produces a Pinot Noir with a plush soft texture that is held together by the distinctive thread of silk and sinew.

Deep crimson red colour. Lifted aromatics of cinnamon, dried herbs, dark rose petal and black cherry. On the palate sweet fruit is well integrated with fine tannin and subtle oak flavours to give a soft but long finish.

A medium to deep purple ruby colour. Intense black cherry, wild thyme, truffle and a hint of black tea make for a complex aroma. The palate is tightly packed with dense fine tannin yet the ample fruit flesh provides a silky texture that finishes with a floral lift.

2009

A medium to deep purple ruby colour. Intense black cherry, wild thyme, truffle and a hint of black tea make for a Deep plum red colour, streaked with crimson. Aromas including fresh black cherry, red roses, spice, dark berries and lavender emerge. The palate is full with a lush entry and a long fine tannic core. Generous and complex flavours of plum, blackberry, lavender and bay combine with hints of spice and earth. The wine finishes with length and grace.

Dusky plum red in colour. Darker, more brooding aromatics than seen in this wine before. Spice, ripe raspberry, plum, dark chocolate and earth characters, with violet floral high notes. The palate is rich with berries, roses and exotic spice, all beautifully restrained and focused by a core of suede-like tannin. Finishes long and rich.

Vivid purple-red in colour. Vibrant aromas of red berries, cherries, flowers, wild thyme with background earth and honey notes. The palate is alive with berry fruit and flowers, lush and generous but tightened by sandy tannins, natural acidity and a minerally streak. The wine finishes long and bright.

Colour is black in the centre moving to a dusky red. The nose has aromas of dark cherry, olive, wild herbs and floral notes. Cherry and blackberry flavours mingle with dried herb, oak and dark floral tones. The palate is dense with a firm fine core of tannin. The wine finishes long, with graceful notes of red fruit and spice.

An exciting vineyard site located on the northern side of Felton Road on an elevated terrace above the Kawarau River lying gently to the north-east. With a complex mixture of loess, quartz sands, ancient lake bed clays and schist gravels these balanced soils hold water throughout the dry Central Otago growing season.
