"High red sweet notes with meaty and wet straw scents… very Burgundian aromatics…quite subdued on the palate with Burgundian sweet notes and texture… upright tannins, red and dark fruits, berryfruit, savoury straw, beetroot, fruit just keeps growing in complexity in the glass…intense.. finishes with a classic peacock’s tail upturn."

Deep dark red. Aromas of brambly black fruits, roses, black tea, fresh bread and peppermint are intense and beguiling. The palate reveals layers of sweet berries, soy and scented wood flavours surrounded by tannins of refreshing complexity extending the length of this wine for an age.

The Te Muna Road Vineyard is located some 7 kilometres outside of the Martinborough township. The vineyard consists of two distinct terraces, the higher comprising very old, stony clay infused soils perfect for Pinot Noir and the lower terrace of younger stony soils interleaved with limestone – providing an excellent environment for Sauvignon Blanc.
