Bright straw with green hues. Complex intense aromas of lemon, lime, rose and blossom. On the palate a rich core of sweet fruit is held together by lovely acidity creating a long finish showing minerality and some talcum powder notes.

“Floral and finely balanced, with good weight, strong, citrusy, limey flavours, a gentle splash of sweetness, lively acidity and a long finish. Well worth cellaring.”

“Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. Elegantly fresh and pure aromas of limes and lemons with hints of wet stones and minerals reveal subtle nuances of fresh herbs, building with good depth on the nose. Dryish to taste, tightly bound flavours of limes, lemons and minerals initially appear a little austere, but open to show a gentle succulence and sweetness, the flavours enlivened by racy acidity. Fine, dry phenolic textures show the fruit extract and potential, forming a refined palate line which carries the flavours to a very long, crisp and dry finish with flinty notes. This is a tight, finely textured, classical dryish Riesling that will develop over the next 4-5+ years. Serve as an aperitif and with fine Asian cuisine.”

“Youthful and delicate, the bouquet shows fresh apple, grapefruit and floral characters. It's mouth-watering and vibrant on the palate with excellent weight and intensity, leading to a long succulent finish. A beautifully structured, off-dry riesling showing promise.”

“Fragrant with zesty lime juice, lemongrass and grapefruit, and lovely citrus overtones suggesting grapefruit marmalade, but it’s restrained at present, textural with a steely backbone and tight structure that indicates it will develop with bottle age.”

Sourced from parcels of wine growing in the old stony soils of the famed Martinborough Terrace on our Te Muna Road Vineyard.
These grapes were hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, the juice then fermented cool and left on lees for some four months after vintage.
The result is a deeply expressive wine with a combination of poise, elegance and hidden power all wrapped up in the juicy texture that is distinctly Martinborough.
