We are currently in the midst of the 2014 harvest which is yet another opportunity for our great estates to tell their unique story and how they have performed during the 2013-2014 growing season. When the collective dreams of Terry Peabody and Steve Smith MW came together, Craggy Range was formed with strong aspirations to become regarded in the upper echelon of fine wine producers from around the world. Update from Steve Smith, MW

This is a wonderful time of year in Hawke’s Bay and we head into summer having made it through the early parts of spring without the threat of heavy frosts creating issues in our vineyards. Our vines are very content and showing excellent fruiting potential. Usually Labour weekend marks the end of the real drama, although you never know when a streaking southerly from the Antarctic can bring icy conditions. The vineyards are really showing their strength in this warm, dry and relatively windless start to spring so it has been a great introduction to the growing season.
