Craggy Range’s Le Sol on White House Wine List? - 5/11/2010
Craggy Range ‘Le Sol’ Syrah is to be served at the dinner table of one of the world’s most powerful women following Hilary Clinton’s visit to New Zealand this week.
Prime Minister John Key gifted the United States Secretary of State six bottles of the 2008 ‘Le Sol’ at an exclusive dinner prepared by Steve Logan of Logan Brown Restaurant on Thursday night. The guest list of 12 included Mr Key, Foreign Minister Murray McCully, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade John Allen, US Ambassador David Huebner and Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell.
The prime ministerial recommendation of this iconic Craggy Range wine comes hot on the heels of a number of great reviews for the company in influential wine publication Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate. The 2008 ‘Le Sol’ Syrah and 2008 ‘The Quarry’ were both awarded a coveted 95 Points. These were followed closely by the 2008 ‘Sophia’ with 94 Points ensuring Craggy Range had 3 of the top 4 wines reviewed. In the latest edition of the Wine Advocate, 15 Craggy Range wines received ratings of over 90 Points, considered outstanding wines of exceptional complexity and character.
Limited stocks of 2008 Craggy Range ‘Le Sol’ are currently available at fine wine retailers and premium bars and restaurants around the world, through the Craggy Range Cellar Door or via the Craggy Range Deep Purple Wine club.
